DRAFTING PROJECTS

In the city of shapes project I took simple geometric shapes and added depth to some areas in the shapes making them look like buildings. After that I added color such as brick, stone, steel, and wood to give it the feel of a real building. I wanted my buildings to have a lot of light so by tearing down walls I was able to a more modern design.

City of Shape- Fall 2017

In the coordinates project we learned how to use simple lines to created 5 blocks tall alphabets and numbers. We then took the letters and numbers we made a arranged them into name and dates. we had navigated the beginning ropes of CAD and were able to add color to the letter and number.

In Auto cad we learned the difference between absolute, polar and relative coordinates. We also learned how to hide lines for each character on the game board as well as the numbers on the score board. We then used these types to create a Galaga dash board like the original game.

In the skyscraper project, our class was supposes to research a find a skyscraper in the world, then make a 3D model of the building in SketchUp. For this project I decided to make a 3D sketch of the newly built skyscraper on 432 Park Avenue in New York city. Inside this skyscraper are luxury condominiums and beautiful views of central park. Things that I had learned in completing this project are how to research the information needed from the building and proportion. I found this project to be quiet fun in actually making a model of something in real life.

Mini Golf Course- Fall 2017

For the Mini Golf course project our class was taught how to navigate the hatch button, fillet, and the offset button. We used what we learned about these button and created a golf course with the last hole being a creative design. There are nine holes in total, complete with small ponds and large boulders  for design. This project was fairly easy to accomplish and was very fun to make.

Checkerboard- Fall 2017

In the checkerboard project we learned how to properly use the array Command by knowing how far away we needed the items to be. Each checker board piece is made by the polar array command, and to make the board we used the Rectangular command with no spaces in between. This project was very easy, fun ,and taught you how to use the array button.

Sketch Up Beach House- Fall 2017

In this project our goal was to create our own beach house from the research we had done before building. the beach house in the picture to the left is located on the east coast due to it being on stilts. I think this has been my favorite project yet.

In this project we were given the instructions to create a tetris dashboard. Each block was made of 5 by 5 squares and offset to .5. We gave each shape a designated color, like how it is in the game, and arranged them on our dashboard as if someone was playing the game. I found this project to be fun since I enjoy this game.

For this project we were given step by step instruction on how to assemble the R2D2 on the right. The assemble can in 3 parts, the head, the abdomen, and the legs. We also had to create a title block as if this rendering was made by the rebels. I think this project was fun yet rigorous based on the instruction and having to do this alone.

Restaurant Sketch up Project- Fall 2017

For this Sketchup project, we were given the freedom to create whatever type of restaurant we wanted to make. For my restaurant I wanted to go for a new Orleans look on the outside by doing a french look with archways and thin windows. for the overall design I decided to keep it basic by doing lots of brick and neutral colors as well as wood detailing. as for the roof I wanted it to be the design piece which kinda makes my restaurant look like there is a giant clam coming out of the roof. as for the restaurant its self i wanted it to have a Creole menu and a jazz club theme by adding a bar next to a small stage for local performers to use. overall I enjoyed doing this project and I learned that there is much more to building a restaurant than you think.
